1952 - Judge Tony Quirino, the brother of 6th president Elpidio Quirino bought 70% of BEC’s stocks and renamed it to Alto Broadcasting System (ABS).
1953 - Four men were trained in America by the Radio Corporation of America and imported TV sets.
- DZAQ-TV was opened by Tony Quirino. It begins telecast Oct 13, introduces commercial television in the Philippines and Asia

1956 - Chronicle Broadcasting Network was formed by the Lopez brothers Eugenio and Fernando on Sept 24. It launched the second TV station in the Philippines in the name DZXL-TV.

1980S
1980 - Gregorio Cendaña is named Minister of Information.
1983 - Sen. Benigno Aquino’s assassination is a small item on TV news; Channel 7 gives 10 seconds of airtime to Aquino’s funeral procession.

1984 - Imee Marcos attempts Channel 7 takeover, but is foiled by Mercado Jimenez and Felipe Gozon
1986 - EDSA revolution, PCGC ordered the release of BBC 2 frequencies to the Lopezes, re-launch of ABS-CBN by Cory Aquino
1986 - Cedie Vargas, daughter of Oscar Lopez led the rebuilding of ABS-CBN physically by preserving the heritage for future generations. On Feb 24, Channel 4 goes off the air during a live TV news conference in Malacanang, during the exchange between Marcos and Chief of Staff Gen. Fabian Ver.
The network is eventually take over by the rebels, starts broadcasting for the Filipino people.

1988 - ABS CBN slogan “In the Service of the Filipino” is intorduced in Nov.
1989 - Gina Lopez, daughter of Geny Lopez continued the ABS-CBN Foundation that was established by his father.
- ABS-CBN takes a stand against lawlessness and violence with its Sundalo ng Karahasan, Kandila at Panalangin, and Citizen’s Crusade for Democracy and Peace with Justice corporate campaigns, setting the momentum for the network’s other on-air projects for social consciousness, such as the DZMM Bantay Bata programa against child abuse and the Sagipbayan call for sobriety during Middle East Crisis. 1992 ABS CBN makes initial public offering of stocks, selling shares at P15 per share. 1997 - Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III takes the reins to become ABS-CBN chairman and CEO. He was also the Vice Chairman of Lopez Holdings Corporation and the Director of First Gen Corporation, First Philippine Holdings, and Sky Vision Corporation.)

2002 - In June, the ABS-CBN International division spins off into a wholly owned subsidiary as ABS-CBN Global Limited
2008 - Channel head Charo Santos-Concio becomes the company’s fifth president. Goes tapeless in its TV production in and out of the studios, adopts BayaniJuan as corporate social responsibility project and wins 130 awards from various award-giving bodies o Electronics Corporation (BEC).
